Bio: “Ever since I was young I always knew that I wanted to become a visual artist. I was completely infatuated with drawings, photographs, sculptures and anything that could be called art. During my high school years, I was introduced to Adobe Photoshop by a teacher and the rest is history. I began learning HTML shortly after that so that I could showcase my creation on the web. From that moment, I knew I wanted to be a Graphic Designer.”

Redesigning my portfolio with work from 2nd Quarter of this year. I decided to develop the entire portfolio in the style of a magazine to demonstrate my layout design abilities, typography skills, and also provide me the opportunity to talk about my work and background in design. For the cover I decided to incorporate different elements and ideas. I wanted to demonstrate my ability to do photo manipulation right off the bat, as well as convey that I could handle the design of a magazine cover effectively. I used the text to showcase my different skill sets. This cover is still a work in progress as is the whole of the portfolio. I'm still determining what pieces will end up in, as well as designing new ones for it. I'm considering showcasing at least 16-20 different pieces of work initially. Would love to know what you guys think of this and what else I could do for it. Energetic was inspire by the Boa song of the same name. I wanted to try out a few interesting ways of applying my lighting effects. I think the experiment yielded some pretty stunning results. I revisited the Star Girl concept and decided to do a series of 4, this is the 2nd image in that series. Another foray into the world of imagination and imaging. I used an istockphoto image I modified against my own custom background, created by using a combination of effects and techniques. Lady Huntress of Autumn Lady Snowflake is probably my most solid Mostly I'm inspired by music throughout my Photoshop workflow, hope you guys like this one. This image is to contrast the one I call Ultimately this is inspired by the song God is A Girl. I wanted to create a hyper real image with a range of color and beauty. This is one of my favorite images so far. In a desire to work with closeups and try out a few things I worked up this image, somewhat inspired by the Princess Bride which was running on tv 2 weeks ago. Touched is something I had a ton of fun with. I put some raw emotional energy into this piece, and spent a lot of time building up the background. Time: 12-14 HRS Tools: Photoshop, Wacom Intuous3 4x6 Dance Photo Manipulation, inspired by my best friend Tiffany Montanez Johnson. Star girl was interesting to work on, I used several effects here including on the required me to make a custom flare-brush set. Each time I revisit this concept I find something new and interesting to keep it fresh. Hope you guy like it. I really enjoyed working on this particular image. Look at me was a chance to try out some new techniques. I did extensive retouch work to this image including, completely recreating the eyes and lips, whitening the teeth, and smoothing the skin. I used different adjustment layers to really get the image to pop. The butterfly wings I did myself using a reference. The model in this image was great and had very unique and expressive features that allowed this image to work the way I imagined it.
