A portrait of the lovely Liliana Sanchez Made in Photoshop with the aid of my Wacom. This was a commission I got based on the Bruce Springsteen song. Photoshop CS2 + Wacom Aeola Element: Air The character is a paintover from this picture I found of Hudson Leick as Callisto which just had the most perfect look for what I had in mind!! Dark and twisted... I wasn't 100% sure about the colors, but I wanted to keep it mostly blue because of the elemental reference... And it got too cheery when I added yellows or reds.... I wanted to do something different, something with an edge. A different take on a well used subject maybe. So I decided to do my take on the elements/elementals BUT with a dark edge. Here is the first in a series of elements: AQUATA Element: water References used for the fishy Yburiath; The Red Princess The inspiration for this piece came while I was in the process of it.. All the colors are intentional and with a background: Red: Color of fire, love, lust, passion Green: Color of envy, nature Gold: Color of the supremes Those explain her background and character in a way.. Fun fact: Turn around the 1st 4 letters of her name And then there was part 3: FIRE This one really took me some time... (even though it looks the simplest of all up untill now...) I didn't know what to do with it... or how I wanted to portray her... What animal to use... I didn't want to pick all the obvious ones.. Ok, besides the colors -I picked a snake that kinda looks like a dragon-esque being.. dragons breathe fire... dragon=reptile...snake.... -Red RED curls, -More luminating fire than actually being on fire. -And the stare..... All together, that makes for: PYRA Element: Fire
