CREATE A COVER FOR ADVANCED PHOTOSHOP AND WIN!


Advanced Photoshop has teamed up with iStockphoto.com to offer you the chance to appear as a cover artist on a future issue of the magazine. iStockphoto.com, the leading royalty-free stock site, has supplied ten fantastic images for you to use to create an stunning image for the front of Advanced Photoshop magazine.

Whether you’re into matte painting, illustration, photomanipulation, digital painting or any other Photoshop skill, then your task is to take any of the supplied images and turn them into a fantastic cover.

WHAT YOU CAN WIN
Four winners will each receive:
– Their image on the cover of Advanced Photoshop magazine, issue 65
– £500 cash
– £500 iStockphoto.com credits

That’s a prize fund totalling £4,000, not to mention worldwide exposure in Advanced Photoshop magazine.

HOW TO ENTER
Download the images provided by iStockphoto.com from www.istockphoto.com/createacover. Your task is then to create an image worthy of being on our cover using at least one of the provided images and Photoshop. You may also use your photography, additional stock imagery (purchased from iStockphoto.com only), scanned elements or other software programs to complete your image.

Images must adhere to the following:
– Color mode: CMYK
– Resolution: 300dpi
– Image size: 235mm x 305mm
– File format: PSD (please retain the layers)

To enter your image for the Create A Cover competition, send a low-res, flattened JPEG to createacovercomp@imagine-publishing.co.uk with the subject line ‘Create A Cover Competition’. We will get back to you for a higher-resolution, layered image if you are selected as a winner.

You can also send your image on a CD to:-

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The competition is open to anyone, but a maximum of one entry per person is allowed. By submitting a design (a “submitted work”) to Advanced Photoshop’s Create A Cover competition, each entrant confirms that they are the copyright holder of the submitted work and that it is their original work. By entering the competition and submitting a work, you grant Imagine Publishing, its partners and its sponsors a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to, without modification, including cropping, reproduce, enlarge, publish or exhibit, on any media, the submitted work. Imagine Publishing agrees that it shall not make use of the submitted work in a fashion that is considered under applicable law to be pornographic, obscene, immoral, infringing, defamatory or libelous in nature or would be reasonably likely to bring any person or property in the submitted work into disrepute.

Imagine Publishing agrees that, except in respect of the distribution of the Advanced Photoshop eMags, which may contain the submitted work, it shall not make the submitted work available in any manner such that it, in whole or in part, can be extracted, accessed or reproduced as an electronic file. Closing date for all entries is 23 November 2009. Winners announced online and in issue 65 of Advanced Photoshop magazine on 31 December 2009. Imagine Publishing will appoint a judging panel to shortlist entries and winners. The decision of the judges is final and the organisers will not enter into any correspondence regarding the judging or organisation of the competition. If no submitted works are of the quality required for the cover, then the judges reserve the right to change the terms of the competition.

Imagine Publishing and its partners reserve the right to substitute prizes with a comparable alternative. Prizes are non transferable and equivalent will be offered. Winners should allow 90 days for receipt of their prize.
